FIELD: applied radiochemistry; labeled organic compounds and beta-radiation sources. SUBSTANCE: for producing carbon-14 radionuclide, mixture of calcium and sodium nitrides cleaned of impurities is melted at 250-500 C, allowed to cool down, and salt melt is crushed and charged in container. Upon irradiation in neutron flux container cover is pierced and nitric acid is introduced in metered portions through holes obtained to dissolve irradiated material at the same time heating container to 150- 200 C. Gaseous compounds of carbon-14 produced in the process are periodically blown out of container and conveyed for recovery. Proposed process ensures high yield of carbon-14 of high isotope purity. EFFECT: reduced amount of radioactive wastes, facilitated procedure. 1 tbl, 4 ex
