FIELD: nuclear power engineering; low-waste decontamination of power-generating equipment. SUBSTANCE: reactor circuits are treated with solution of nitric acid and nitric-acid aluminum at 80- 100 C for 2-5 h. Upon passing spent solution through ion-exchange filters sodium (potassium) nitrite is introduced in system its concentration being 1-10 mg/kg. Such treatment provides for suppressing corrosion process for long period. Proposed method makes it possible to use low-quality water and to reduce protective concentration of sodium (potassium) nitrite when equipment is given preservation treatment. EFFECT: enhanced decontamination factor and shielding properties of oxide films formed in the process. 4 tbl
