FIELD: radio communication. SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for reduction of power consumption in the course of telephone conversation. Power amplifier in terminal station of radio communication system has first amplifier 300 for high-power transmission and second amplifier 208 for low-power transmission. Input device 209 selecting path of passage of signal switches over input signal to input unit of first or second amplifier in response to signal of control over switching. Output device 210 selecting path of passage of signal selects one of output signals coming from first and second amplifiers in response to signal of control over switching. Detector 105 of indicator of intensity of received signal detects intensity of signal received from base station. Control device generates signal of control over switching of first state with low intensity of signal to let input device 209 switch input signal to first amplifier 300 and let output device 210 select output signal of first amplifier 300 or generates signal of control over switching of second state with high intensity of signal to let input device 209 switch input signal to second amplifier 208 and let output device 210 select output signal of amplifier 208. Power supply source 107 blocks transmission of first supply voltage to amplifier 300 in response to signal of control over switching of second state and blocks transmission of second supply voltage to amplifier 208 in response to signal of control over switching of first state.
