Device for controlling output power level in mobile station has circuit for detection of received signal level indication in order to detect signal level, control circuit, which has memory unit for storage of bias voltage control values and bias current control values, and power amplifier. The method for controlling output power of mobile station involves detection of level of signal received from base station, reading bias voltage and bias current control values, which correspond to detected signal level, from memory unit, and sending the values to the power amplifier.
