FIELD: paper-and-pulp industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves following operations: converting waste paper into pulp, bringing pulp into contact with ink-removing agent in aqueous medium at pH ~4 to 10.5, and removing ink. Ink-removing agent contains aqueous dispersion of surfactant copolymer. Copolymer can include: (i) at least one vinyl monomer having at least one quaternary nitrogen atom; (ii) at least one vinyl monomer having at least one amide group; (iii) at least one vinyl monomer having both hydrophobic and hydrophilic groups; (iv) at least one vinyl monomer having at least one carboxylic group. EFFECT: enabled removal of aqueous and/or oil print ink under low acidity, neutral, and alkali treatment conditions. 24 cl, 3 tbl, 5 ex
