FIELD: mechanical engineering; compressors. SUBSTANCE: adjustable tubular diffuser for centrifugal compressor has outer ring and inner ring installed for turning or axial displacement relative to each other between the first open and the second closed positions. In open position, mating parts of air channels of inner and outer rings are aligned to provide maximum passage of cooling medium through diffuser. In closed position, passage channels of ring parts are mismatched and cooling liquid from through diffuser is limited. Surging can be prevented by shifting diffuser rings in direction of closed position even in case when high degree of compression is required. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of operation. 8 cl, 7 dwg
