FIELD: analytical chemistry. SUBSTANCE: flow of gases from chromatograph column is admitted to flow-through chamber 1 through cylindrical nozzle 2 and it escapes from it in the form of cylindrical jet 6 striking against active surface 4 of β-radiation source 3 which is made in the form of disc. After striking, thin film-like flow 7 is formed which spreads over radius from center to periphery of β-radiation source 3. Carrier gas, that is helium or hydrogen has ions whose mobility exceeds mobility of ions of agents under test. Gas in flow 7 is ionized by β-radiation of source 3. Ions of agent under test move with flow 7 to collector electrode 8 and ions of carries gas 14 are collected by electric field of voltage source 12. For removal of gas after analysis, auxiliary flow of carrier gas is fed through pipe union 13. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of detection by at least 25 times. 3 cl, 1 dwg
