FIELD: electrical engineering; differential protective gear. SUBSTANCE: transformer has ferromagnetic core carrying three coaxially arranged windings; one of them is secondary winding and two others are primary windings; windings are insulated from each other and from ground by means of three coaxial insulating layers. With piece of equipment under protection operating normally resultant action of primary currents equals zero. In case of ground fault in transformer or in piece of equipment under protection current will be induced in secondary winding due to difference in primary currents.
