FIELD: space engineering; the artificial Earth satellites stabilized by rotation around vertical. SUBSTANCE: method consists in finding such spatial position of satellite receiving antenna, provided transmitter of emergency object is operating when Doppler frequency of received signal is equal to zero. At this moment, angle between axis of receiving antenna and axis of horizon sensor is measured. Coordinates of under-satellite point of spacecraft track at moment of measurement are calculated. Measurements are made twice. Position of emergency object is determined by coordinates of two under-satellite points and two measurements of indicated angle. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of calculation; extended area of observes surface; increased signal-to-noise ratio in receiving antenna. 3 dwg
