FIELD: catalytic reforming. SUBSTANCE: device uses combination of non-mechanical valves and pneumatic and gravity transportation of discrete material to reduce its destruction. Device is suitable, particularly, for transportation of catalyst particles where they are raised through rising channel from lower level to relatively higher level such as, for instance, in process of moving-bed catalytic reforming. Bends are replaced by pulse-free diverter of flow in which transportation is used under effect of gravity for elimination or minimization of attrition accompanying pneumatic transportation. The method of catalytic reforming in which initial raw material in the form of low-octane naphtha contacts with movable bed of reforming catalyst in the form of discrete material and carbon in zone of reforming provides for use of device for transportation of discrete material. EFFECT: avoidance of pneumatic transportation over bends for reduction of pressure drop and elimination of turbulence in moving of catalyst particles. 4 cl, 4 dwg
