FIELD: protection of paintwork materials intended for protection of readily inflammable materials in civil engineering. SUBSTANCE: fireproof paint is essentially aqueous dispersion based on acrylic dispersion or mixture thereof with homo- or copolymeric vinyl acetate dispersion. Swelling additives comprise mixture of pentaerythrite and ammonium polyphosphate at ratio thereof of 1: 1.3-2.6, respectively, and also anion active and/or nonionic surfactant foam suppressor ether cellulose thickener, conservative additive, titanium dioxide talc or microtalc, optionally sodium tetraborate and water at certain ratios of said components. Composition is stable during storage, coating is moisture-resistant, has soot decorative properties and when exposed to fire it swells and forms heat insulating and fireproof layer on substrate. EFFECT: improved properties of the swelling paint. 1 tbl
