FIELD: fire-proof materials. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to swelling polymeric coatings exhibiting fire-proof effect when used to protect wood and heat-shielding effect when protected metallic units in order to increase fire endurance and to protect cellulosic, polymeric cable products, and cloth- supported materials. Fireproof swelling paint containing resins or resin mixture as binding agent, carbonization substance, foaming agent, and filler is characterized by that said carbonization substance is polyatomic alcohol and/or starch and that it further contains: stabilizer for foamed coke, in particular starch or urea; foaming agent catalyst, in particular cerium, manganese, copper, magnesium sulfates; component enhancing fire-proofness of paint, in particular aluminum hydroxide forming aluminum phosphate with phosphorus; and talk as dispersant. Paint can be provided as monocomponent or bicomponent. In the latter case, it contains 20-40% binder and 60-80% other solids. EFFECT: enhanced fire-proofness (at proper proportions of components), decreased consumption paint, and in particular adhesive properties thereof. 8 cl, 2 dwg, 2 tbl, 6 ex
