FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves examining lung radiogram, peripheral blood, Mantou test with 2 TE PPD - L and pleural bioptate when reliable tuberculosis manifestations are observed. No manifestations being revealed, tuberculin test is carried out with 20-50 TU of tuberculin intrapleurally introduced. Seven or more signs of general response being found to take place in 48-72 h like high body temperature beginning from 37.3 C and higher, intoxication syndrome manifestations, increased number of leukocytes, low lymphocyte number in hemogram, high erythrocyte sedimentation exceeding 3 mm/h, high leukocyte index of intoxication, high level of medium size proteins, general protein contents, fibrinogen, C-reactive proteins, seromucoids, syalic acids in peripheral blood and focal response as occurrence of or increased percentage of eosinophils in pleural fluid, the sample is considered to be positive and the tuberculous pleurisy is to be diagnosed.
