FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves applying antibacterial therapy to a patient in combination with exudate suction from a pleural cavity. 2 ml of 5% Mexidol solution are introduced into a pleural cavity after suction. Treatment course includes ten preparation injections, done every other day.
EFFECT: accelerated clinical laboratory indices normalization; reduced percentage of pleurisy outcomes showing marked pleural thickening.
