FIELD: analysis of air for presence of aerosols. SUBSTANCE: ionization pickup can be used as fire detector of inflammation at early stage or as alarm of outburst of harmful ( toxic ) aerosols in various branches of industry. Ionization pickup includes flow-type ionization chamber, measurement circuit incorporating pulse generators. Body of ionization chamber houses radioactive generator of ions fitted with modulating electrode positioned coaxially along longitudinal axis of chamber and connected to first pulse generator. Neutralization and collecting electrodes are located perpendicular to longitudinal axis of chamber. Neutralization electrode presents assembly of several current-conducting grids and is connected to second pulse generator. Collecting electrode is fabricated from current- conducting grid and is connected to measurement circuit. All three electrodes are insulated from body. EFFECT: enhanced sensitivity, measurement speed and automatic test of serviceability of pickup. 1 dwg
