FIELD: liquid distributing equipment. SUBSTANCE: countercurrent column 1 has liquid distributor 2 including tubular or trough-shaped distributing devices 21 arranged in column above pack 3 so as to form multiplicity of partial streams 40 in gas up flows at the height of liquid distributing devices 21. Backwater zones 45 are created between pack 3 and liquid distributing devices 21. Column is further provided with additional devices 24 adapted for acting upon backwater zones and/or streams of distributed liquid so that upon exit from liquid distributing devices and before flowing into pack 3 free-fall liquid 50 intersects backwater zones and, when needed, other zones, where gas flow is substantially free from speed horizontal components. Liquid distributing devices 21 may have shape suitable for acting upon gas flow. Even at strong gas flow, liquid is supplied to pack without essential water losses.
