FIELD: concentration of minerals; separation of nonmagnetic materials. SUBSTANCE: magnetohydrostatic separator includes separation chamber with magnetic fluid, magnetic system located under chamber, separating longitudinal partitions, loading and unloading devices. Separation chamber has M-shaped form; it is provided with transversal partitions embracing the upper and lateral surfaces of magnets projecting beyond separation chamber. Unloading devices for light fraction are located on either side from separation chamber. Provision is made for change in width of interpole gap angle between magnets in magnetic system. EFFECT: increased productivity and enhanced efficiency of separation of light, heavy and intermediate fraction by density. 2 cl, 3 dwg
