FIELD: purification of sewage from heavy metals. SUBSTANCE: method comprises filtering sewage containing heavy metals through layer of sorbent which is essentially finely divided bark part of bark of coniferous species of wood exposed to extraction with hot water at certain temperature and flow rate. Method is efficient since sorption ability of used sorbent is higher as compared with other similar natural lignocarbohydrate materials. Sorption product is utilized by combustion.
