FIELD: heat treatment of rolled pieces in rolling mill line, possibly cooling small-size and mean-size rolled bars. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes receiving funnel, cut-off nozzle and row of successively arranged sections having jet with branch pipe for supplying cooling agent and cooling chamber. Novelty is apparatus in the form of modules having housing with sections secured to it. Each section includes in addition chamber with branch pipes for discharging cooling agent. Said chamber is joined fluid-tightly with cooling chamber. Sections are connected one with another. Branch pipes of jets are connected with pipeline for feeding cooling agent. Branch pipes for discharging cooling agent are connected with draining pipeline. Cooling chambers, feeding and discharging pipelines between modules are detachable ones. Relation of total area of cross sections of branch pipes for discharging cooling agent to cross section area of cooling chamber is normalized. EFFECT: predetermined depth of cooling of rolled pieces, enhanced efficiency of cooling. 2 dwg
