FIELD: water preparation, more particularly chemical water purification of industrial condensate and feed water. SUBSTANCE: simultaneous softening and deferrization of water is attained by passing water through cationite in Na+ form which is pretreated with weakly acid solution of Trilon B. Regeneration of spent cationite is carried out first by loosening and washing with water and then treatment with sodium chloride solution and weakly acid solution of Trilon B. EFFECT: higher degree of deferrization and deep softening of water. 2 tbl
