GENERAL-PURPOSE HAND-HELD SMALL-SIZED SOWER Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: sower has casing incorporating hopper and seeding disk with replaceable inserts. Drive sprockets are rigidly fixed on seeding disk pin at both sides thereof. Pin is fixed in frame for rotation, and frame is rigidly fixed on casing. Sower is equipped with seed sowing track indicator positioned inside sprocket track indicator and made in the form of rack with funnel-shaped seed centralizers arranged on its longitudinal axis in equally spaced relation, with space being equal to seeding pitch. Metal carcass rigidly fixed on lower side of track indicator has channel extending through its mid portion and tubes arranged under each funnel-shaped seed centralizer. Share-hole former composed of movable and immovable flaps is arranged on each tube. Immovable flap is rigidly fixed on tube and movable flap is pivotally attached to tube and rigidly attached to spring-loaded tie-rod, whose one end is rigidly fixed to metal carcass and other end to handle pivotally mounted on metal carcass. Handle is connected to another tie-rod made in the form of plate with holes extending along longitudinal axis in equally spaced relation, with hole spacing being equal to spacing between centralizer openings. Tie-rod is arranged in metal carcass central channel. Sower of such construction may be used for sowing farm crops in hot houses, greenhouses, on plots used in selection, crop sort testing or seed growing.
