FIELD: medical equipment. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has external vessel with openings for communication with atmosphere and for breathing tube connected to internal chamber. Internal chamber has continuous bottom, side holes arranged in chamber lower part, and devices for changing effective area of holes. Internal chamber is positioned in intermediate vessel equipped with hole arranged in its upper part and adapted for communication with internal vessel medium. Device for defining required volume of external vessel is positioned in external vessel and is made in the form of transverse partition wall which is positioned for axial displacement and may be fixed in predetermined position. Partition wall adheres to internal surface of external vessel and to external surface of intermediate vessel. Apparatus is equipped with device for forming in internal vessel of atmospheric and expired air flows and guiding these flows to transverse partition wall. The latter is formed by two concave surfaces with arced section. Concave surfaces joint place is directed inside used share of cavity defined by partition wall of external wall. Apparatus of such construction allows bioactive breathing medium to be generated from expired and atmospheric air and carbon dioxide and oxygen content to be regulated.
