FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: sulfur-containing gases from zinc production are subjected to wet treatment and dried. To capture sulfuric acid mist, dried gas flow is deflected by 90 deg. by the aid of entrainment separator, which is periodically sprinkled with 92.5-94% sulfuric acid. After that, entrapped sulfur dioxide is converted into sulfur trioxide, from which sulfuric acid is recovered. EFFECT: essentially fully removed solids, avoided growth of system resistance, and more than fivefold increased lifetime of equipment. 1 dwg, 2 tbl
