FIELD: sewing and textile industry. SUBSTANCE: needle guiding mechanism has needle guide crankshaft, crankshaft pin arranged at an angle to crankshaft axis of rotation, connecting rod, needle guide carrier, needle guide with needle holder. One head of connecting rod is put on crankshaft pin and other head is put on carrier finger. Holder with roll is rigidly mounted on needle guide. Roll axis is extending perpendicular to needle guide axis. Carrier finger pin is permanently arranged parallel to crankshaft finger axis. Needle guide carrier is pivotally put on holder roll. Such construction allows needle to perform compound motions, with paths of all needle points being on cylindrical surface of radius equal to distance between needle point and needle guide axis. Needle is movable in axial as well as in transverse direction, and follows machine base when machine is on the latter. EFFECT: simplified construction, enhanced reliability in operation and reduced production and maintenance costs. 1 dwg
