FIELD: wind-power engineering. SUBSTANCE: horizontal-shaft windmill-electric generating plant has support 1 whose top part mounts turning head 4 which is, essentially, conical casing 5 with cover plate 6 at base. Angle at cone apex is 45-120 deg. Casing 5 accommodates horizontal shaft 7 and electric generators 8, 9 kinematically coupled with mentioned shaft through reduction units 10, 11. One extension of horizontal shaft 7 is located in top part of casing 5 and other one protrudes from cover plate 6 and mounts windwheel 12 built up of radial fastening rods 15 and at least two concentric rings 13, 14 carrying wing-shaped radial blades 16. Largest part of blade 16 juts above edge of casing 5; blade length shaded by cover plate 6 amounts to 5-15 mm. Conical casing 5 functions as wind vane to concentrate wind flow arriving at windwheel 12. Provision is made for accelerating wind flow as it leaves edge of conical casing 5.
