FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: irrigation system has water supply regulator made in the form of level regulator, perforated irrigation pipeline connected to level regulator via coupling allowing irrigation pipeline to be rotated around longitudinal axis. Pipeline is fixed on ground by adjustable height poles and has additional row of openings in its upper part. Such construction allows regular errors to be minimized, pressure differential of irrigation openings to be reduced and, as a result, minimum prolonged irrigation to be carried out without excessive soil moistening, with drop irrigation opening sections being minimum. Rotation of irrigation pipeline due to rotating coupling reduces probable setting errors, provides increased irrigation and allows pressure to be increased in all drop irrigation openings by moving regulator in vertical plane. Uniform distribution of moisture over soil surface is facilitated by means of convex plates located under dropping tubes. System allows continuous prolonged irrigation of vegetable crops on open and protected soil to be performed and automatically maintains predetermined water flow rate per unit of time. EFFECT: increased efficiency and provision for improved irrigation mode. 4 dwg
