FIELD: separation of components from liquid medium. SUBSTANCE: separation device has cell or stack of many adjacent cells; each cell consists of plate unit provided with filter inlet opening for delivery of liquid medium to chamber and outlet openings for discharge of wastes and permeate. Liquid medium is subjected to intensive turbulence created by rotor, sometime in combination with acoustic waves (ultrasonic waves preferably) and/or electric field, thus excluding or considerably reducing settling of separable components on filter. Rotor for realization of this method has blades whose surfaces are flat in considerable degree; flat surface of blade directed to filter has one or several sections extending beyond plane of this surface; surface of rotor blades directed to filter may be curvilinear in shape owing to which distance between surface of rotor and filter is small on inner portion of rotor; this distance gradually increases towards rotor periphery; section of rotor blades has S-shaped form in plane parallel to filter; S-shaped form is continuous.
