FIELD: antenna engineering; aircraft early-warning radar antennas. SUBSTANCE: simulator has same shape and dimensions as radio transparent dome section proper; it is riveted structure made of metal such as aluminum alloy. Dome section has top and bottom skins, nose section of simulator, radial ribs, upper and lower jointing bands, and ribs-supporting sections. Simulator nose has several skin sections joined together and supported by upper and lower longitudinal girders and transversal sections. Ribs are assembled of upper and lower beams joined together by means of posts; the latter are joined to upper and lower longitudinal girders of nose. Rib beams differ in height which reduces from joint between ribs and longitudinal girders of nose towards point of attachment of jointing bands. Jointing bands provide for interchangeability of simulator-to-cell and radio transparent section-to- dome cell joints. Proposed mechanical design of ribs and jointing bands ensures uniform take-off and distribution of thrusts on cell jointing bands. Stability of ribs is ensured by joining internal ledges of rib beams together with aid of supporting sections mounted in several rows and adequately spaced apart lengthwise of each rib and used at the same time as centering weights to ensure desired location of center of gravity. Additional dummy weight may be mounted, if necessary, on these sections to ensure desired weight and location of center of gravity. End ribs are of constant height. EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities; reduced time and labor consumption for simulator manufacture. 6 dwg
