FIELD: medical equipment, in particular, optical systems of endoscopic devices designed for observation of narrow biological canals and difficult accessible human body cavities. SUBSTANCE: the endoscope optical system has an objective lens made of two plano-convex components, image transmission system and an eye-piece. The convex surfaces of the components are installed opposite each other. The first component of the objective lens is stacked together of a plane-parallel plate and a plano-convex lens. The second component of the objective lens is a lens stacked with the plane surface to the inlet end of the image transmission system. The plano-convex lenses of the first and second components are made with a definite rated length and radii. The image transmission system is made in the form of a gradient optical element with a radial distribution of the index of refraction. The plane-parallel plate is made with an axial length exceeding the focal length of the objective lens. EFFECT: enhanced quality of image at an enhanced technological design of the objective lens on the whole. 4 cl, 4 dwg, 1 tbl
