FIELD: valves engineering, in particular sanitary fittings, applicable in flush tanks for flushing the water closet bowls installed in water closets. SUBSTANCE: the drain valve has a closing member, seat, vertically positioned overflow pipe installed for adjustment in height, annular sealing member located on the pipe. The overflow pipe is provided with a branch pipe with a flange telescopically joined to it. The branch pipe is connected to the closing member and installed for communication with the seat cavity at a closed valve. Annular grooves are made on the outer surface of the overflow pipe. An expanding ring is installed in one of the grooves. The sealing member is made with a tapered surface and placed between the expanding ring and the branch pipe with a contact of the tapered surface and the edge of the branch pipe end. The expanding ring, sealing member and the branch pipe flange are enveloped from the outside by a fastener and secured by its radial turn. EFFECT: reduced dimensions of the overflow pipe, reduced specific consumption of materials, prevented influence of deviations from the cylindricity of the inner surface of the external branch pipe on leak-proofness of the seal. 3 dwg
