FIELD: breaking ice cover by means of submarine vessels. SUBSTANCE: ice cover is broken by excitation of resonance flexural gravitational waves in ice due to translational motion of submarine and by means of generator extended from ship's hull in way of her motion through distance sufficient for interference of two wave systems at maximum resultant amplitude; besides that, hydraulic impact are delivered from generator towards first crest of waves periodically at frequency of resonance flexural gravitational waves.
