FIELD: polymer materials. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technology of fabrication of heat-resistant fibers from aromatic polymers and can be used for manufacturing textile ware: protective clothing for live-savers, firemen, and uniforms. Polymers are synthesized from 5(6)-amino-2-p-aminophenylbenzimidazole, m-phenylenediamine, and terephthaloyl chloride in dimethylacetamide solution in presence or in absence of lithium chloride. Polycondensation solution is extruded into waterdimethylacetamide bath, washed, and dried. EFFECT: simplified process and reduced expenses. 3 cl, 7 ex
