FIELD: synthetic fibers. SUBSTANCE: high-strength fibers based on aromatic copolyamidobenzimidazoles and designed for use in organic plastics useful in aerospace and armament industries are manufactured by introducing polyvinylpyrrolidone into polycondensation solution of aromatic copolyamide in dimethylacetamide and spinning fibers in spinning bath, followed by washing, drying, and heat treatment. According to invention, aromatic copolyamide is copolyamidobenzimidazole prepared by low-temperature solution semicondensation of terephthaloyl chloride (100 mol %), 5(6)-amino-2-p-aminophenylenebenzimidazole (70 mol %), and p-phenylenediamine (30 mol %) in dimethylacetamide-lithium chloride mixture, to which polyvinylpyrrolidone is added in amount 5 to 10%.
