FIELD: medicine, gastroenterology, pharmacy. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for peroral administration and method of treatment of patients with enteric diseases. The proposed composition has 5- aminosalicylic acid as an active component that is adapted for modified release of drug from envelope in order to obtain clinically important localized effective pattern of 5-aminosalicylic acid by release of the required amount of 5-aminosalicylic acid in small and large intestine. Invention relates to also a method of treatment of patients with inflammatory enteric diseases of Crohn's disease type and ulcerative colitis also. Invention provides favorable release of drug in clinically required doses. The latter effect is provided by the following pattern: nonsignificant release of 5-aminosalicylic acid in stomach and its significant release in small and large intestine for the corresponding time.
