FIELD: civil engineering, mainly such fields as motor-building, storage tank-building, erection of multi-storied and broad-span buildings, towers, chimneys, water- cooling towers, underground and underwater objects, etc. SUBSTANCE: the composite member has a metal shell supported by strengthening members provided with cavities, reinforcement, concrete aggregate. The novelty is in the fact that the strengthening members are positioned on one or both outer surfaces of the metal shell, the cavities in the strengthening members are formed by a broken outline of their free edges with smooth sections being at different distances from the shell outer surface, the reinforcement passing through the cavities is rigidly attached to the additional reinforcing rods directed along the strengthening members, at the worst positioned above the free edges of the strengthening members, and those additional reinforcing rods that closely join the strengthening members are rigidly attached to them on the smooth sections of the greatest remoteness of the strengthening member from the shell. EFFECT: reduced specific consumption of materials and labor content in erection of the structure and expanded field of probable application. 5 cl, 3 dwg
