FIELD: information storage and read-out. SUBSTANCE: device has case with transparent screen, printed material residing on tape made, for example, of paper, cassette arranged so that one opposes other. Case is divided by means of partition into two parts of which one has hinged cover with lock and holds tape cassettes; other part is closed by means of removable panel. Transparent screen has U-shaped frame and is asymmetrically mounted in hinged cover. Device also has lighting system incorporating lighting fixtures and reflectors; the latter are mounted opposite lighting fixtures. Cassettes can be set in rotary motion by means of electric drive mounted in case part closed with removable panel and are mechanically braked due to frictional forces built up by flexible members fixed in position and used to tighten rolls at points of their attachment to case wall and partition. Device is equipped with office pieces of equipment such as calculator, electronic notebook, timer, radio receiver, all mounted on removable panel of case; it is provided with stationery box, pocket for holding separate paper sheets, folding leg mounted on rear wall of case, electric-drive and lighting-system control elements including electric drives, ON-OFF buttons, tape-drive stepless speed control buttons. Device ensures easy access to information for users of scanty physical abilities, sick or old persons, invalids.
