FIELD: chemical processing of rosin; applicable in production of emulsifier in synthesis of rubbers and other products of chemical, petrochemical and wood-chemical industries. SUBSTANCE: method consists in heating of tall rosin in presence of successively added, first, sulfur-containing alkyl-phenol formaldehyde compound of general formula (1) , and then iodine in amount of 0.15-0.35 wt. % of rosin weight with ratio of additives from 0.5:1 to 1:1, respectively. Subject to disproportionation are, both, nonmodified and tall rosin modified with fumaric acid or maleic anhydride. EFFECT: produced clarified rosin noncrystallizing and with stable physico- chemical characteristics. 2 cl, 4 tbl, 4 ex
