METHOD FOR PRODUCING EXTRACT OF DENSE BEE GLUE Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: apiculture. SUBSTANCE: method involves preparing bee glue by processing it to powder state; preparing mixture of bee glue and solvent; providing extraction with following filtering and concentrating of obtained extract of bee glue. Prior to extraction process, solvent is poured into prepared bee glue and mixture is infused. Extraction process is conducted at solvent boiling temperature. Upon extraction, hot mixture is filtered and obtained filtrate is cooled and repeatedly filtered, with following separation of liquid bee glue extract and bee glue wax and distillation of solvent from liquid extract. Infusion is performed for time period required for diffusion of solvent deep into powdered bee glue. Bee glue and solvent ratio is chosen such that, before extraction process after infusion, the amount of solvent remaining above bee glue surface is not less than amount sufficient for preventing from contact with air. Also, before extraction, powdered bee glue is exposed to supersonics. To obtain extract, native as well as secondary bee glue is used, for example, that obtained after preparing of aqueous or oil extract.
