SUBSTANCE: composition for making building articles comprising β-hemihydrate gypsum, wood sawdust and water has slime of polishing-buffing production of glass taken in the following ratio of components, wt.%: β-hemihydrate gypsum, 34.65-45.65; wood sawdust, 7.3-7.4; slime of polishing-buffing production of glass, 9.35-20.35; water, the balance. Invention can be used in production of articles based on gypsum binding materials. EFFECT: enhanced water resistance, enhanced strength in 1.5 h, decreased mean density, decreased amount of components, simplified technology, decreased consumption of binding agent. 3 tbl
