FIELD: pulp-and-paper industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves adding non-polymeric water-soluble aluminate to composition in the form of cellulose fibers suspended in water; forming resultant mass of fibers into web; dehydrating and drying web; regulating moisture content in web to value ranging from 8 to 20% at least before breaking into filaments. Invention is also related to cellulose mass adapted to be broken into filaments and to cellulose mass broken into filaments, and to absorbing articles produced therefrom. Absorbing articles possess improved absorbing capacity, may be transported and/or stored for prolonged time while moisture content being kept. EFFECT: reduced power consumption and improved qualities of absorbing products. 24 cl, 7 dwg, 6 tbl
