PIPE LEAKAGE TESTER Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: testing facilities; pipe testers. SUBSTANCE: leakage tester has base in form of box- section container consisting of three compartments. Extreme compartments being connected to each other serve as water collector. Fixed crossmember to support, movable slider and carriage are installed on base. Sealing heads are mounted on slider and carriage. Columns are secured stationary on crossmember at one side and are secured on supports with slide fit. Pipe is installed in follow rests with changeable support and clamping inserts coaxially to sealing heads. Axes of pipe, columns and sealing heads lie in one plane at angle of 1^°30′ to horizontal plane. Beads for fixing rear sealing head are found on ends of columns from one side. This sealing head is provided with support rollers and guides. Device has planetary pipe re-laying mechanisms installed on columns for rotation around columns axes and pickups to regulate preliminary upset of pipes by sealing heads and to check changes in pipe length at testing. Follow rests are installed on spring-loaded platform for travel along pipe axis. EFFECT: improved reliability, reduced metal usage and overall dimensions. 5 cl, 11 dwg
