FIELD: environmental protection. SUBSTANCE: method involves forming ground-retaining water-permeable transverse partitions; forming stable herbage protected from ground water and surface water erosion along main bed of flattened gully by sowing perennial grasses and simultaneously by applying fertilizers. Ground-retaining partitions are formed by digging out ground to 0.25-0.35 m depth and, preferably, 2.0-2.5 m length through the whole width of channel-shaped portion and for 5-15% of its width from each edge of gully. Method further involves constructing ground-retaining partition carcass, which may be formed as willow fencing of 0.10-0.35 m height, along lower edge of depression; laying water-permeable geotextile material onto depression bottom; covering ground-retaining carcass with similar material and locating material end deep into ground at opposite side of carcass; backfilling depression with ground and leveling it in accordance with shape of channel. Method allows erosion processes to be eliminated and erosive lands to be reclaimed by providing stable herbage forming dense sod. EFFECT: increased efficiency, improved quality of lands and improved protection of environment. 4 cl, 4 dwg, 2 tbl
