METHOD FOR RECLAMATION OF SLOPE LANDS EXPOSED TO RADIOACTIVE CONTAMINATION Russian patent published in 2025 - IPC A01B79/02 B09C1/00 G21F9/34 A01B13/16

Abstract RU 2838683 C1

FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture and ecology and can be used to reduce accumulation of radionuclides in agricultural crops on erosion-slope lands exposed to radioactive contamination, as well as to reduce linear erosion of said slope lands. Method involves flattening of slope lands, cutting in strips of soil, starting from its upper layer, forming them into shafts, then filling the obtained grooves with soil cut from areas adjacent to them, with preservation of the humus layer. At the first stage on slope arable plots of ravines 1-2 years prior to flattening beginning dense-cover strips are created with width of 30-50 m from perennial grasses in the form of awnless brome, tall fescue, alfalfa. At the same time these buffer strips are arranged at borders of beam meadow sections. At the second stage, the ravine slopes are divided into working sections with length of 15-30 m. Then, from all sections topsoil most contaminated with radioactive nuclides is first cut at depth of 0-10 cm, then lower fertile soil layers are cut with depth from 10-30 cm with minimum content of radioactive nuclides and stored in two separate shaft with angle of 3-5° to horizontal plane. At the third stage in working sections low-fertility soil of strips is excavated at depth of 30-60 cm. Wherein in the upper part of the strips the excavation is carried out at depth of 60 cm, and in the lower part – only at 30 cm. Then the excavated soil is moved to the lower sections of the ravine and compacted into the bed. At the fourth stage, after flattening and filling of the selected strips with soil, at first distribution is carried out on the surface of strips of the flattened section with a uniform layer of a shaft with an upper removed layer of soil of 0-10 cm. Covering from above with humus fertile low-contaminated radioactive nuclides soil layer from depth of 10-30 cm. After that mineral fertilizers are applied and dense cover grass mixture of cereal crops is sown.

EFFECT: method provides increased efficiency of localization of radioactive nuclides in slope lands with preservation of agrophysical properties of soil.
