FIELD: sawing articles. SUBSTANCE: thimble is made in the form of cap with depressions on its surface and rod attached with its end to cap. Rod is made rectilinear, with section area smaller than section area of sewing needle. Slot on free end of rod prevents thimble from sliding the moment thimble presses on needle and facilitates withdrawal of needle from reverse side of difficult-to-sew material. Longitudinal grooves are formed on rectilinear rod for preventing thread from rupture during puncturing of difficult-to-sew material by needle.
