FIELD: sewing industry, sewing needles for manual sewing by people with partial or full loss of vision. SUBSTANCE: sewing needle for manual sewing by thread has rod with pointed end, eyelet with transverse thread receiving slot and leaf spring fixed with its one end on needle rod on portion between eyelet and pointed end and adapted for covering thread receiving slot. Leaf spring adheres to rod surface and may be bent at an angle to rod axis. Needle has outer thread restrictor defined by groove bead and first cut at rod end and inner thread restrictor defined by thread receiving slot side formed by second cut faced to needle pointed end. Such construction of needle allows quick blind insertion by user of thread into eyelet by moving thread over rod toward end up to outer restrictor with following guiding thread under leaf spring back to needle pointed end up to inner restrictor connected with eyelet.
