FIELD: protection of buried gas pipelines and underground metal constructions from electrochemical corrosion. SUBSTANCE: method involves applying standard or intensified-type protective coat to pipelines situated at distance exceeding 20 km from compressor station. In case pipelines are situated at distance less than 20 km from compressor station, pipeline surfaces are covered with coat of extremely intensified type and having thickness of up to 9 mm. Pipelines situated farther than 20 km from compressor station are provided with cathodic protection. EFFECT: simplified method and reduced occurrence of emergency situations during operation of high-pressure gas pipelines.
