FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves fixing magnetic seal in the zone of foreign body projection. The vitreal cavity is filled with perfluororganic substance after performing subtotal vitrectomy. Internal magnetic seal is introduced through flat portion of the ciliary body as a ring and retinal zone is covered around the foreign body in the zone of extrascleral magnetic seal projection . The foreign body is withdrawn in transvitreal way. The operation is completed by carrying out intravitreal barrier argon laser retina coagulation. The internal magnetic seal area is greater than the foreign body area by 20-30%. Both magnetic seals are optionally removable later on or retainable for a long period of time. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of transvitreal removal of a foreign body from the posterior eyeball pole; avoided traction phenomena to arise. 2 cl
