FISHING ROD Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: amateur and sports fishing. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fishing tackles, namely jointed fishing rods. Proposed fishing rod has handle with rotatable member, hollow sections, whip, and tensioning device with extension spring fitted in handle and connected with whip by flexible member. Whip-to-section joint consists of three hinge- connected links with convex-concave surfaces in places of contact. Tensioning device is essentially slider with thread on one end and square shank on other end. Slider is coupled with extension spring. Slider is installed for reciprocating inside square section portion of handle for engagement with rotatable member provided with inner thread. Slider is coupled with stop installed for movement inside slider and with extension spring by means of cable brought out of rotatable member. Cable can be manually tensioned. Cable acts onto slider through stop and makes its threaded end for engagement with rotatable member. This increases catch of tackle and improves reliability owing to provision of adjustable self- folding of fishing rod, creation of restoration of fishing rod system after beyond-the-limit jerking or snagging, prevention of possibility of loss of section, provision of indication of overload, improved durability of fishing rod, wear resistance of hinge joint and repairability of joint.
