FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves performing dynamic examination of chest by means of ultrasonic apparatus operating in real time mode, linear and sectoral transducers operating at 5.5 MHz frequency. The examination begins from the back placing a transducer first above the superior spatula edge in the first lung segment projection and then in paravertebral position and then in intercostal space. Next to it, the patient is turned into lateral position and the examination is continued between the anterior and posterior axillary lines by moving transducer in intercostal spaces. Frontal surface of chest is examined positioning transducer in intercostal spaces. Destruction space in lung is determined and its segmental localization, size and volume, availability of capsule and inclusions is determined according to pulmonary segment skeletotopy data. These data are used for determining acute pulmonary abscess. EFFECT: high accuracy of diagnosis. 13 cl
