METHOD FOR TREATING TROPHIC ULCERS AND WOUNDS INCURABLE FOR A LONG TIME Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

Abstract RU 2185210 C2

FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves applying luminous flow to an injured area of tissue. Visible portion of the solar radiation is used in the bandwidth from 400 to 760 nm defocused by means of magnifying glass. The defocused beam with spot diameter equal to 25-35 mm and power density of 400-784 W/m2 is directed to an injured area of tissue. A treatment lasts for 2-25 min. The sessions are administered daily or every second or third day. Their number is from 3 to 10. Wound or ulcer size being greater than the spot diameter, heliophototherapy session begins from peripheral areas and the spot is moved to the central areas or to the opposite end of the injured zone. Action intensity applied to the wound or ulcer is evaluated in objective manner based on patient feeling of minimum pricking and warmth. Painful feeling being arisen, optimum spot diameter from 25 to 35 mm is determined by changing focal length (making it bigger or smaller). EFFECT: accelerated epithelialization and treatment course. 1 tbl
